Warby's Surveys

Introducing our emerging survey program

The overall aim of this program is to monitor changes in bird and mammal fauna, to help Parks Victoria achieve its objectives for biodiversity conservation and sustainability. Special attention is given to threatened species and the woodland bird community (which is listed as threatened under the Victorian Flora & Fauna Guarantee Act 1988). Such information is needed to help Parks Victoria manage habitat and ensure that the Park continues to sustain populations of these species.

To support this program SRR and a fantastic group of volunteers have monitored many sites across the Warby Ovens National park, focusing our attentions within the Warby Ranges.

Across Spring in 2019, 20 sites were monitored and repeated again 2020 plus some additional sites

 Surveys will once again be repeated in Spring 2021
